Traffic Pattern Changes - Beginning Monday, June 5, 2017 A portion of the proposed frontage road paving has been completed from Clear View Services to Gravy's Diner. This will allow traffic will be switched into the next stage of the frontage road. The traffic closure will be shifted west and the existing frontage road will be closed from the west edge of Clear View Services up to Regions Bank. All other traffic control in the Phase 2 project limits will remain unchanged. ![]()
Traffic Pattern Changes - Beginning Friday, June 2, 2017 The Black Hawk Village Road , Waterloo Road, and McClain Drive intersections will be opened. There will be at least one lane of traffic in each direction of University Avenue for the entire Phase 1 project. Traffic will circle the Waterloo Road roundabout similar to the Boulder and Holiday roundabouts with a cross over, East of McClain Drive, to accommodate the traffic flow on Phase 2. East bound traffic can use all three intersections to access the Black Hawk Village mall area. West bound traffic can only use the Waterloo Road roundabout to access the Black Hawk Village mall area. Construction activities will remain in the center of each roundabout, in the median of University Avenue, and around the Waterloo Road intersection. ![]()
North Frontage Road Business Access Routes - Beginning Friday, June 2, 2017 Access to Melrose Drive from University Avenue will be closed for East bound traffic. East bound traffic will be directed to use the Holiday Road roundabout the businesses highlighted in blue. This movement will occur until the contractor completes the left turn lane to north Melrose Drive. Access to the North Frontage Road at Black Hawk Village Road will no long exist for East bound traffic. East bound traffic will be directed to circle the Waterloo Road roundabout to make a right turn to access the businesses highlight in yellow. Access to Taco John's will remain at the temporary pavement located directly in front of the business. Construction activities continue in front of Arby's and between Taco John's and Advanced Auto Parts. ![]()
North Frontage Road Business Access Routes - Beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2017 Business access for Advanced Auto Parts will be changed to Melrose Drive beginning Tuesday, May 30. Construction activities will continue on the north frontage road between Taco John's and Advanced Auto Parts and in front of Arby's. Directional business signage will be updated accordingly to reflect the access to each business. Construction activities continue at Waterloo Road, McClain Drive, and in the center of the Boulder Drive and Holiday Drive roundabouts. ![]()
Paving of the eastbound lanes between Hillcrest Drive and Rownd Street is scheduled to begin over the weekend. The contractor continues efforts on pavement removal, storm sewer and roadway grading on the east end of the project on the frontage road area. The frontage road between Gravy's Diner and CVS Motorsports remains closed. Temporary pavement has been installed at the southeast corner of Rownd Street and traffic has been switched to the temporary pavement to allow for utility work in the intersection.
What to expect: Roadway paving will continue between Hillcrest Drive and Rownd Street. The frontage road between Gravy's Diner and CVS Motorsports will be paved. Once paving is completed, the frontage road between Gravy's Diner and Midway Drive will be closed for construction. Work will continue in the Rownd Street intersection. North Frontage Road Business Access Routes - Beginning Friday, May 12, 2017 Access to Melrose Drive from University Avenue will be open beginning this Friday, May 12. The contractor will continue construction of the north frontage road between Holiday Road and Melrose Drive, working the areas in front of Advanced Auto Parts and Arby's. All businesses will have access. Directional business signage will be updated accordingly. In addition to the frontage road work, the contractor will be paving University Avenue between Waterloo roundabout and Hillcrest Drive, construction inside the center of the roundabouts, tree installation and grass seeding. ![]()
