On June 5, 2015, the City of Cedar Falls submitted an application for federal funding from the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER Discretionary Grant Program. The highly competitive TIGER program offers federal funding possibilities for large, transformative multi-modal, multi-jurisdictional projects. The University Avenue Reconstruction project was one of 625 applications received this year for the program requesting $9.8 billion in funding for projects in all 50 states. Projects selected for funding are anticipated to be announced before the end of 2015.
